Savor the best fresh-caught shrimp in the world during the Annual Beaufort Shrimp Festival, featuring unique shrimp dishes from the region’s foremost restaurants and chefs.
The Beaufort Shrimp Festival is an annual event held in Beaufort, South Carolina, celebrating the local seafood industry and community. The festival is in October. This two-day event is held in the Henry C. Chambers Park downtown. It’s a great opportunity to meet locals, support local businesses, and celebrate the unique qualities of the area. You can come and enjoy live entertainment at night, a wide array of shrimp dishes prepared in various styles, like shrimp cocktails to shrimp and grits. Although shrimp is the main focus, this is not all that is offered!
A Shrimp Festival 5K Run is a running event held during the Festival. During this race you will run right where Forrest Gump was filmed and over the Downtown Woods Memorial Bridge. Rumor has it you can even run with Forrest Himself!
Sea Island Rotary Club sponsors an Annual Charity Shrimp Race. Highly trained and motivated rubber shrimp will mount their inner tubes and take to the water! This fundraiser has great prizes and holds lots of fun – all while helping to raise money for our community!
Keep in mind that the specifics of the Beaufort Shrimp Festival can vary from year to year, so it’s a good idea to check the festival’s official website or local event listings for the most up-to-date information on dates, times, activities, and participating vendors.
